About the community
Escaya is one of the more recently finished villages in Otay Ranch, planned around a central amenity area, parks and a trail network. Nearly all of its roughly 992 planned for-sale homes have sold.
Anden at Escaya was the last neighborhood still being marketed when we reviewed it, with a small number of homes left. If you want an Escaya home today, resales are the main route.
What we found
- Roughly 992 for-sale homes were planned.
- Builders over time: Lennar (including the former CalAtlantic neighborhoods), Brookfield Residential and Shea Homes.
Before you visit
- Bring your agent on the first visit. The sales team works for the builder, and many builders only cooperate with an agent who is registered on your first visit. Read why it matters.
- Ask what is available right now. Phases, prices and incentives change often. Ask for the current price sheet, the lots or plans left and the estimated completion dates.
- Ask about the total cost of owning. Association dues, special taxes such as Mello-Roos and the property tax rate all change the monthly payment.
- Ask what an outside inspection can cover and when. New homes can have defects too.
